It was a very busy day in the OR. We had 2 complicated ENT cases, 2 complex plastic surgery/burn reconstructions, and 7 orthopedic cases. Three of these were ones that would not have been done without our visiting ortho team, one of these I am sure has never been done in Ethiopia. All 3 were for children who had an injury to their arm during birth. The surgeries are designed for them to eventually be able to use their arm.
The audiology team performed 52 hearing screenings at a local school and will go back tomorrow for more.
