We had a very busy but productive OR day today. We ran 3 ORs all day with patients for
hernias and similar operations, breast surgery, urologic issues and other minor
surgical issues. All together, we had 7
adults and 12 children for surgery. There
were several other patients who came in who required some evaluation or
treatment in the clinic; one child that we will try to refer to a local
pediatric hospital for further evaluation tomorrow. We had a large group of children from a local
orphanage who came for surgical procedures.
They were amazingly patient, polite and calm even when waiting around
all day since they came together.
We had dinner, a team meeting, and now many people are
playing some games and laughing it up!
