Our day didn't turn out as we planned. We left Mbarara around 1 pm or so and started driving to Kanungu. We stopped several times - for gas and to put air in a tire. Then we finally had to stop to get the tire fixed. A few people went ahead to check the roads, and one of the roads had a mudslide, so we were going to go a different way. Then they reported a mud hole seen here. So a third road was picked. It too had a mudslide and was the only other way into Kanungu, so we had to abort that plan and return to Mbarara. We just got here about 30 minutes ago and are eating rice and MREs (meals ready to eat). We saw several mudslides on our way back to Mbarara, so it was probably a wise decision. We saw lots of views of the countryside.
